There is always something fun and exciting going on at Brookfield Zoo, so be sure to check out their upcoming events before you plan your next day trip!
Here a few good things to know before you go!
- Stay local. Don’t feel like going far, but looking for something fun? Explore the Hinsdale Farmers Market, conveniently located only a block from the Hindsale train station. Enjoy fresh foods from local farmers and support various vendors from the local community.
- Purchase tickets. Download the Ventra app for easy ticket purchases to avoid additional surcharges when buying tickets on board the train.
- Metra weekend pass. $8 weekend Metra passes are available for purchase on both Saturdays and Sundays. No need to choose between the suburbs or the city, you can have the best of both worlds and enjoy unlimited rides on both Saturday and Sunday!
- Layer up. Whether you are traveling downtown for the day or a quick trip to the suburbs, be sure to layer up! The weather downtown is cooler downtown on the lakefront, but sometimes much warmer in the suburbs. Always travel with a light jacket so you are prepared for anything the Midwest weather may bring.
